Post 10 – Analytics, seo and audience growth

Trevor’s guest lecture for this week was very insightful and interesting specially with his personal projects that he shared with us. His personal experiences of small business like the Paper Route and selling custom candle holders were interesting and also showed me that one can do a business and make money from any idea they can come up with. His ideas on monetizing our websites and the different ways a student can do it were insightful as well, it even makes me consider taking up courses with Trevor to learn more about his ideologies.

The first reading discusses the current and future trends in mobile technology and its impact on businesses. It talks about how mobile devices have become an indispensable part of ours lives, with 66% of the world’s population being mobile phone users. It emphasizes the increasing importance of mobile-first for businesses, as customers are now more likely to discover and engage with brands on their devices as it provides insights into significant growth of mobile internet use, app downloads and mobile commerce. It also predicts how mobile advertising will continue to expand and allow businesses to reach their target audiences. The reading also says that businesses need to optimize their mobile experiences and ensure seamless performance across different devices.

The second readings focuses on  how SEO plays a crucial role in improving a website’s visibility on search engine result pages, thereby increasing organic traffic and potential customers for businesses. SEO helps businesses build credibility, brand awareness, and a competitive online presence. It discusses the importance of keyword research, on-page optimization, high-quality content creation, link building, and other SEO techniques to achieve higher search engine rankings. By implementing these strategies effectively, businesses can attract more targeted visitors and increase their chances of converting them into paying customers.

Furthermore, SEO is a long-term investment with sustainable benefits, unlike paid advertising that ceases once the budget runs out. It highlights the cost-effectiveness of SEO and its potential to generate higher returns on investment over time.
