BEST TACTICS TO PLAY WITH

Custom 4-2-3-1 (Attacking)

Be it Gegenpress or Tiki-Taka football, it is a much trusted and very common tactic, however people use it very differently with custom players roles and instructions to make the game more competitive. Below is how I would suggest you use it in your game as its tried and trusted. I have used this formation with Manchester United, Wrexham, Wolves and have won plenty games with this formation but the tactics are what helps me achieve success.

Possession: Fairly Wide, Pass into Space, Pass shorter, Higher Tempo

Transition: Counter when possession won, Goalkeeper to Distribute Quickly, Roll it Out

Out of Possession: High Press Line of Engagement, Standard defensive line, Much more often for Trigger Press, Prevent Goalkeeper Distribution

4-2-2-2(Positive)

This tactic is very attack minded, lot of direct football with support for the strikers, with a low defense line. I would recommend it if playing with very attacking teams.

It starts again with a sweeper keeper in defence duty with the two center-backs playing as ball-playing defenders but the two fullbacks have just a fullback support role. Then you have two midfielders, both playing the Volante roles. At the top of the pitch on the left and the right we have both as Attacking Inverted Wingers and up top we have two strikers, one is Deep-Lying forward and other is a Advanced Forward forward.

Possession: Short passing, Pass into Space, Low crosses, Run at defence, Focus down Left and Right, Overlap Left and Right, Higher Tempo, Fairly Narrow

Transition: Counter-Press, Counter, Distribute quickly , Roll it out.

Out of Possession: High Press, Much lower defensive line, Prevent Short GK

4-3-3 DM (defensive)

This formation maintains good coverage of the width of the pitch while utilizing a player in the DM slot to screen the defense and cover for other more high-pressing midfielders .  The tactics below can also be played with a 4-4-2, 3-5-2 and 4-1-3-2 formations where you can use two strikers.
